Here is the complete list of online resources and tools I recommend for building and optimizing your business, and getting your message to the world.
I have personally used every resource recommended on this page. Each was crucial in the development of this blog, as well as many other sites I have owned or counseled.
Some of the resources mentioned on this page are affiliate links, which means I will receive a small commission should you choose to make a purchase. You will never pay anything extra for this, and in some cases, you will save if you purchase through these links.
Of course, you are not obligated to make a purchase, and I urge you not to buy anything unless you feel it will absolutely help you build and optimize your online presence.
Please know, I only recommend tools and websites because they have been very beneficial to me, and that I know will provide immense value to you, not because of a small affiliate commission.
There are many resources I have used which are not listed on this page because they did not meet my standards. I only recommend tools which I absolutely know will help you
WordPress is the content management software I use to run TimMaxwell.com 99.9% of the most successful blogs use WordPress, because it is quick and easy to set up, and highly customizable. Best of all, it’s free.
This link will take you to Bluehost, where you can get your own domain, and set up WordPress, with a few clicks.
You can set it up quickly, and posting content is as easy as composing an email.
Bluehost is the webhost I uses and recommend. In fact, WordPress themselves have long recommended Bluehost as the best host to run their platform.
Bluehost is the perfect host for beginners because you can quickly and easily get your site up, with your own free domain name (i.e. whatevernameyouchoose.com) for about $3.95/month. You can be up and running in a few minutes with their one-click automatic WordPress Blog installation. Bluehost also allows you to host multiple domains, so you don’t have to pay for additional hosting when you’re ready to start another website.
Genesis Frameworks – This is an outstanding blogging theme from StudioPress because it is easily customizable and you can make it your own Many of the top bloggers use Genesis themes. This site uses the Aspire theme, which I customized to make it my own.
Most web surfers check out a site, and never come back, even if they like it. That’s why it’s important to make a connection with your visitors and stay in contact with them via email, and send them goodies and information which provide immense value. In this way, you can turn a casual one-time visitor into a lifetime fan.
Here are the two email tools I use on this site.
Leadpages is by far my favorite tool for creating high-quality landing pages and lead boxes quickly and easily This service was a game changer for me. My list growth accelerated very quickly once I started using it. LeadPages helps you convert viewers into subscribers or buyers, and it’s super easy to use. Can’t recommend highly enough!
Aweber is the service I use to manage my email list and send messages to my subscribers. There are other more advanced services out there for a significantly higher fee. Aweber is perfect for beginning and growing sites at $19/mo. Later on when your budget is higher, you can export your list to a new provider, if you choose. Having said that, I’ve used Aweber for about 10 years, and it has always addressed my needs.
